THANKSGIVING!

Our family wishes to express thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the many provisions given to us over the years.  I say this not to boast of ourselves, but rather the goodness of our Lord.  We recently came into some extra money; before we knew it was coming the Lord impressed upon us to give in this manner:

- We sent $1,000 to the Philippines.  This is where Evelyn is from.  Her sister, Rita, has a clinic there where her and her husband, Marvin, minister to the local children.

- We purchased 45 turkeys for Rhodell

The Lord has been good and gracious and we glorify Him.

I found this video about the history of thanksgiving.  It's about 20 minutes and it's done by the National Constitution Center.

Mission Complete? (maybe not)

Please check out the "Pray for..." tab to see an update of my recent opportunity to speak about the mission work.
My apologies for taking so long to update this.  Life seemed to flow in like a tidal wave.  Thank you to Father Conan Timoney and the Patronage of the Mother of God Byzantine Catholic Church for the opportunity to share how the Lord is working through us in Rhodell.

NEWS FLASH !!!

Greetings,

The primary intent for posting this is not political; but in life one aspect affects another.  Politics and coal are such a case.  While I don't have numbers, areas like West Virginia are incredibly dependent on the employment the coal industry brings to their communities.

I have posted a news report that gives an indication of the urgency of the mission the Lord has given us.  Look for it on the right under "LINKS ABOUT RHODELL".  This area of our country is impacted by the government regulations that have been put in place.  This is an opportunity to show the world how redistribution of wealth through the Body of Christ brings prosperity.  One of our objectives is to establish a tutoring program that will shore up each child's effort to establish good grades and position themselves for college; giving them skills suitable for other industries - if they so choose.

The video is 9 minutes long and very comprehensive regarding this issue.  Pray before watching and may the Lord continue to bless us as we seek to do His will.

In an internet post of The Huffington Post by Tom Zeller Jr., it's reported that more than 6,000 coal mine employees have lost their jobs this year (info from Carol Raulston, a spokeswoman for the National Mining Association)!!!

UPDATE

Praise the Lord.  We received an email from Marie in West Virginia.  Power is restored.  With the weather warming it's uncertain if flooding will be anything of an issue.  Keep praying.
