THE LORD MOVED AGAIN!

As we like to say in the South, "Y'all want ta see the Lord move!!!"  Now, some would say when a door "closes", "It must not be the Lords will."  Others might say, "Why don't you find some other way?" Or, "Forget about it."  Prayer and discernment are crucial during these times.  I hope I have expressed the recent update clearly in how the Lord "issued a warrant" to apprehend the enemy for interfering from the Lord's work!

Please look at the "Pray for..." under the college scholarship for a new and exciting development dated Sept 25.  It's times like these that make being a follower in Jesus Christ exciting and brings purpose to a persons life.

PRAYER UPDATE!

Please check out the "Pray for..." tab and see what's happening!

Take a moment to consider the "Impromptu Mission Trip to Rhodell".  Evelyn and I were asked to do a medical mission trip - we did not seek out this opportunity.  Taking that as an opportunity from the Lord I began making arrangements to coordinate with another ministry for a doctor to be there.  That being said, suppose we had proceeded forward with this; trying to make it happen (keeping in mind we now know what the Lord would have us do - arrange this medical trip with our regular one in the summer).  The first disaster is going without the Lord's blessing.  Second is putting myself in a position with my vacation time at work to where I might not have enough for the summer mission trip.  The third is taking people we don't know very well, and without the Lord's blessing any number of disastrous things could have happened that would have left them with a bad experience.  Praise the Lord, I was willing to "hear" the Lord.  I was at work, doing my job, and as I was attentive to the task before me I started thinking about the medical mission trip for October that Evelyn and I were asked to do.  The more I meditated on it the more the Holy Spirit made clear to me that what we are to do is talk to the nursing students now for the trip this summer.  This gives everyone time to prepare and the 2nd year students are not in school.

Take Joshua 6.  The Israelites are at the edge of Jericho waiting for the Lord.  Then the Lord tells Joshua about marching around the city once a day for six days, the priests carrying the ark and blowing the rams horns; then on the seventh day marching seven times.  But notice what Joshua says to the people (this after speaking with the priests about their role), "Go forward, and march around the city, and let the armed men go on before the ark of the Lord."  Okay...he doesn't say anything about how many days, what happens on the seventh day, nothing about keeping quiet; why?  He does tell the people later, as things unfold.  But imagine if the people had gotten all caught up in the excitement and didn't pay attention to Joshua's further instructions, or maybe upset because he didn't tell them everything upfront and then didn't listen to him; would they have been successful?  Of course not.

How often are we like that with our prayer life; we take the first thing God tells us and think, "That's it, let's go!"  Not thinking there may be more information the Lord will give us as things unfold.  Here's the principle I walk away with; when praying for something and getting an answer realize there may be more to be revealed.  Going forward on only half an answer can only be disastrous.
